FALL AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Fall in New Jersey | Ms. Toody Goo Shoes

Have all of the leaves fallen off the trees in your neighborhood?

Leaf season was a bit odd around these parts.
Some of the leaves turned colors and fell off quickly;
while others remained green until just recently.
Even in Rhode Island, where we spent this past weekend,
I was surprised to see that many leaves were still hanging on, up there, as well.

Before fall is a distant memory,
here are some parting shots from around my neck o' the woods.
The photos were taken over the last couple weeks,
so the trees aren't looking quite as colorful,
and the hardy mums, truth be told, aren't so hearty.

Yup, the park again.

By Thanksgiving, all of the trees will be bare.
At least, that's the way it usually is.
But considering that some of my summer flowers are still blooming,
all bets are off.

  1. Just beautiful, Amy! I love the colors and can relate. Our leaf season has been a bit odd, too. Most trees are orange, red, yellow, while some are fully green and some are totally bare! Seems like they each have their own idea about when it's time to hibernate!

  3. Gorgeous photos! Glad I hopped over. I haven't had much time for visiting lately other than links to my Share Your Cup party. Cindy mentioned on her post that she had met up with a few of her friends. How fun! Love it when I get to meet blog friends.

  4. We have wondered whether the leaves have fallen in our Pacific Northwest neighborhood and our neighbors tell us the yard care man is taking good care of the clean up. I do miss raking leaves. Beautiful photos!

  5. So beautiful. We are having warmer than normal weather here outside Chicago and it has a lot of the trees still in green leaves. Most are starting to really come into color for us too. Love all your pretty photos.
Have a great rest of the week.

  6. Were you visiting colleges in Rhode Island?

The tress here are just like yours...some still hanging on while others completely bare. In a few days I'm sure they will all be hibernating.

    Lovely photos Amy!

  7. Up here in Upstate NY, our Maple trees have been showing their stuff better than ever, and pretty late. They are all falling off now too. Yup, the bare, gray winter is coming. I actually look forward to the snow covering the bare branches. Your pictures are gorgeous!!

  8. It's beautiful there! Can't say the same for here. Think we're skipping fall. Still using the air conditioning!

  9. I think Fall is just prettier the further north you go! Since I live in the south, it isn't as colorful here. We have also been experiencing a terrible drought, so the leaves haven't looked as nice due to that problem as well. Your pics are beautiful! I think the north does Fall the best, and the south does Spring the best. So, check back with me around April. Ha!

  12. Amy this is a lovely share of the beauty of our painted leaves. They fuse a last memory in our minds when winter seems like it will never end to give up its strong hold to allow the trees to bud with Spring Green. So much splendor to behold and you captured it beautiuflly.

  13. Beautiful and vibrant colours, Amy, of the fall foliage in your neck o' the woods. I love the pic of your neighbour's home and can imagine that your own home is just as lovely. The farm is very charming and I'm sure has a lot of seasonal treats to offer.
