PHOTO DIARY: MARCH 10-24, 2017

I'm thinking about going back to doing a daily photo diary.
I miss the challenge of capturing a good photo each day,
and many people tell me they enjoy it.
Besides, I find that it helps sharpen my photography skills,
which still need improving, so......here we are.

You may recall this used to be a monthly feature,
but it feels a bit more manageable to do it bi-weekly.
I don't solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute it every single week,
but as long as I've got decent photos to share,
I'll keep it going to the best of my ability.

Minor little snowstorm today.
A red-bellied woodpecker is quite appreciative of the suet feeder on snowy days.

My first attempt at hamentaschen (pronounced HUM-en-tosh-en), is a success!
This pastry is traditionally eaten on the Jewish holiday of Purim,
and the explanation that I grew up with is that its triangular shape
represents wicked Hamen's three-cornered hat.
Get the recipe for Nutella Hamentaschen by Tory Avery, here.

Sometimes it's fun to spend the afternoon playing around with the mantel.

Snow day! A foot of snow is enough to keep us all indoors for the day.

Lasagna soup -- oh my, My, MY!
It's the perfect way to warm up the tummy on a cold, wintry day.

Two days after the snow storm:
Bright blue skies,
and the streets are finally clear.

Shopping for a dress got me all depressed because I felt fat,

The highlight, and perfect ending to the last two weeks,
is that I got to meet Katie from Let's Add Sprinkles
when she came to New York City for the weekend!
Katie was the first person to follow my blog,
so I am forever grateful to her.
We gabbed for about an hour, and could have talked all day, I'm sure!

  3. It was so much fun getting to meet you. You look fabulous and not fat. I'm sad the snow was filthy by the time I saw it. I'm thrilled you are going to do this feature again. We could have talked all day!

  4. How nice you got to meet Katie! I think all of us bloggers have a special place in our hearts for the first people who followed us. It's like 'wow, someone wants to read what I have to say?! What's wrong with them??' LOL

I have made those cookies and to be honest, I thought they were a bit too labor intensive, but that's probably because I was making sixteen million other varieties at the same time. I might have bit off more than I could chew...pun intended :)

Home in two weeks where internet is plentiful. Have a great week!
