MAY I HAVE TWO MINUTES OF YOUR TIME?

Ms. Toody Goo Shoes

May I have two minutes of your time?

Seriously, just two minutes.......
I promise that's all it will take to read this blog post.
Really, really!

Depending on what you've got going on right now,
that's either a big ask or no big deal.

It's funny, isn't it, how sometimes, two minutes seems like two hours,
and other times it feels like two seconds.

In fact, it seems to me, it's not all that often
that two minutes actually feels like two minutes.

When two minutes seems like an eternity.......

There's a line for the bathroom, and you've really got to go.

The teacher says your oral presentation has be be at least two minutes.

It's freezing outside, and you're waiting for the bus.

Huffing and puffing through those last couple of minutes on the treadmill.

Texting your teen, and waiting for their answer.

Brushing your teeth according to label instructions for a full two minutes.

Waiting for the elevator when you're late for an appointment.

Talking to someone you don't like, at a party.

Waiting for your doctor to give her diagnosis.

Holding your breath under water, if you had to.

Sitting through commercials during your favorite show.

When two minutes doesn't really mean two minutes........

"I'll be ready in two minutes."

The two-minute warning in a football game.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this train is being held in the station for just a couple of minutes. We'll be moving shortly."

"Your call will be answered in approximately two minutes."

"We'll have a table for you in just a couple of minutes."

I'll just read for two more minutes and then turn out the light.

"It's only a two-minute walk."

"The doctor is running a couple of minutes behind."

"Fill out this survey - it will only take two minutes."

When two minutes is a bummer........

The boss says, "Can I see you for two minutes?"

The DVR cuts off two minutes before the end of a show.

You set the timer on the oven for two minutes, walk out of the room, and come back five minutes later to burnt cookies.

You're just two minutes late to the parking meter, and there's a ticket on the windshield.

You run inside for two minutes thinking you don't need an umbrella, and it's pouring when you come out.

The bus comes two minutes early, and you're still parking your car.

It's 12:02 a.m. and your name is Cinderella.

When two minutes really matters.......

Timing soft-boiled eggs.

When two minutes are really awkward.......

The realization that it's Moonlight that won Best Picture, not La La Land.

When two minutes pay benefits....

Finding time during the day for a brief meditation.

Resting your tired dogs for even a couple of minutes.

When two minutes are super-productive...

Setting the timer, and speed-cleaning the kitchen.

When two minutes are really scary........

The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists moves the Doomsday clock two minutes closer to disaster.

When two minutes is way too short.......

At the airport, saying goodbye to someone you love.

Your contractions are two minutes apart, and you're stuck in traffic.

You give yourself two more minutes at the pool before going back to the hotel room to get ready to catch your flight.

You've got two minutes to run to the ladies room before the movie starts.

Hitting the snooze-button for two just more minutes ⏰......

You give yourself two minutes to sit down and do nothing.

AND.......

In two minutes, you'll be saying goodbye to your child on college move-in day (Sob!!).

  6. Amei os significados de dois minutos. Para umas coisas ele custa a passar enquanto que para outras dura muito tempo.
    Hugs,
    Have a nice weekend!

  7. Amy that was such a fun read. And I even recognized some of your photos. I'm of the five minute variety. "I'll be there in five minutes" and then my kids roll their eyes at me.
