Hi - remember me?
No?
It's me..........Ms. Toody!!!!
Ms. Toody Goo Shoes???????
Doesn't ring a bell?
It serves me right for disappearing for the last six months.
Sorry about that.
Truly, I am.
I had no intention of completely falling off the blogging grid for so long.
I just............
I couldn't.............
I was...........
Welp, truth is.......
I simply lost my motivation to write.
Let's face it.
Writing a travel blog when the world shuts its doors seems to make as much sense
Writing a travel blog when the world shuts its doors seems to make as much sense
as buying a gallon of ice cream when the freezer is broken.
Sure, I could have drawn on material from my archives.
Lord knows I have enough to blog about from now until the next time
the eight planets will be most closely aligned
(that's the year 2492, in case you want to set a reminder on your calendar).
I just couldn't do it.
The travel world wasn't the only thing in lockdown.......
so was the right hemisphere of my brain.
But.........I'M BAAAAAACCKK!
And I owe it all to Feedburner!
Thank you, Blogger Platform, for FREAKING me the FREAK out
Thank you, Blogger Platform, for FREAKING me the FREAK out
about losing all of my email subscribers!!!
Talk about being jolted back into Active Blogging Duty!
It's one thing to stop blogging because you're not motivated......
it's another to be forced to stop because you no longer have a way to
automatically send email alerts to your blog subscribers.
No No No No. NOT happening.
If I decide to stop blogging, it's going to be on MY terms, NOT Feedburner's!
I was in full panic mode.......
So, I did what any experienced blogger would do -
I scoured all of my blog buddies' posts to see what THEY did to replace Feedburner.
I scoured all of my blog buddies' posts to see what THEY did to replace Feedburner.
Everyone I knew had one agreed upon solution.........
contact the Fairy Blog Mother!
That would be Linda of Life and Linda.
I sent Linda an email, and that very night,
before I could say Mizaru, Kikazaru and Iwazaru.......
🙉🙈🙊
........she moved all of my email subscribers to Mailchimp.
Buh-bye, Feedburner!
It was DONE.......
and well worth the very reasonable fee.
Bloggers, if you haven't yet transitioned away from Feedburner,
I highly recommend having Linda do it for you.
If you've been a subscriber of mine,
you will continue to get email alerts, same as always.
If you are new to my blog, PLEASE subscribe by filling out the
Subscribe By Email form on the right sidebar of my blog,
and please follow me on social media!
Yes, I DO plan to write again!
Sorry this post was all about housekeeping......
I will get back to the fun stuff SOON!!!
Hope you enjoyed the patriotic pictures that accompanied the business banter!
Happy Canada Day to my Canadian friends,
and Happy July 4th to my American friends!
IT'S SO GOOD TO BE BACK!
Welcome back to blogging Amy. I fully understand why you were not motivated to post. No travel for anyone. We were stuck at home. It was my pleasure to move you over to Mailchimp from Feedburner. You subscribers are there and they will get your new posts automatically at the time we set up. Thanks for the lovely shout out. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Happy 4th.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Back!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back Amy. I missed you. Glad Linda could help you out. She has helped so many of us. That Fairy Blog Mother has been soooo busy with all of us needing her help. Happy 4th. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteAmy, it was great to see your post in my inbox this morning. Linda's been super busy, and I'm glad you reached out to her. I feel the same way as you insofar as when I decide to quit blogging, it will be on my own terms, not some technical change. Looking forward to more of your posts. Even seeing what may seem small to you is a nice journey for us readers. Happy 4th.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you this morning Amy, and I am happy to see you haven’t lost your uniquely entertaining writing style ;).
ReplyDeleteI imagine Linda has been very busy of late because I’m sure many feel as you do. It should be YOUR decision and not Google’s when to stop blogging.
Now I hope this comment goes through because for some reason many blogger blogs do not allow me to comment. I’ve just given up in most cases but am certainly going to make an exception here!
Welcome back! Beautiful photos as always.
ReplyDeleteYAY! YOU'RE BACK! So happy to see your post pop up in my email and so much fun to read. You've still got it and I am looking forward to more of the same. Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, can I ever relate to your right hemisphere lock-down and motivational lack! I have had ALL the time in the world to do stuff, anything, but alas my mojo has left the building! This last lockdown has me reeling along with a few other things. I am hopeful to get back on track and it's so good to see your post pop up today! Happy 4th to you and yours!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back and you were missed. Nice flags there.
ReplyDeleteLinda is totally the best! She did mine, too. And whatever it takes to get you back, I'm glad you are!
ReplyDeleteSame here!!! Linda takes great care of us. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteYAY! I've missed you.....still connected here! Hugs, Sandi
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of us have been in "limbo" over certain things during the pandemic! I know I have ... stupid pandemic! But I've missed your posts, and I've definitely missed your amazing photography!🙂
ReplyDeleteIt's so comforting that we have Linda helping the blogging community move over to MailChimp. I enjoyed looking at your photos and welcome back to blogging Amy.
ReplyDeleteI remember you - glad you are back.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are back! Missed you.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you're backed. Missed all your postings and viewing your photos. They are gorgeous.
