A Hanging Flower Basket For All Seasons

Hanging Flower Basket - Fill with impatiens and creeping Jenny - So pretty! | Ms. Toody Goo Shoes

Have you ever fallen in love with a flower pot?
Of course you haven't...that would be just nutty.
I mean, who would do that?
The neighbors would talk, for heaven's sake,
if they saw you whispering sweet nothings to your Sweet William, wouldn't they?
But, between you and me, I can't seem to walk by
the hanging flower basket in my front yard
without my heart doing a little flutter.

Truth be told, my love affair with this simple baske
has been blossoming for awhile now.
It began one fall, when my basket was heaped with gourds and mini-pumpkins.

My heart grew even fonder, when it was filled with colorful fall leaves.

In spring, daffodils and pansies
proved to be a match made in heaven, and I was even more smitten.

And now, this summer, I'm enamored with the combo of impatiens and creeping Jenny.
Don't they make a lovely couple?

So, yeah, I admit it. I've got a thing for my hanging flower basket.

I guess I've always been a bit of a basket case.

FAVORITE THINGS: The Essence of Home

Welcome to the second edition of Favorite Things,
where guest bloggers share, well, their favorite things!

Today, my guest blogger is Kelly, from The Essence of Home.
Kelly writes mostly about her elegant, yet relaxed,
cottage-style-inspired home in the south.
Her blog was one of the first I ever read,
and I remember being absolutely smitten with her beautiful front porch.

In addition to writing about her always-changing decor,
Kelly also shares snippets of her life family's southern lifestyle.

Without further ado...
Heeeeeeere's Kelly!

Hi there!  I'm Kelly from The Essence of Home and I'm so honored to be a guest today on Amy's blog.  She asked if I would share some of my favorite things for her new blog series.  Well, of course!  That sounds like a lot of fun!  As I started thinking about what my favorite things were, I realized I had quite a long list.  So, I won't bore you with everything I can think of.  You might be here a while!  I broke up my favorite things into categories and thought maybe you could relate to some of these as being your favorite things as well. After all, I'm not a jet setting, world traveling person.  I live a simple life in the south with my family, so I'm not very complicated.

4. grilled food

Hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite things.  It was hard to narrow it down.  I could've included so many more categories and items.  I'm sure I will learn a lot from this fun series that Amy is doing.  I look forward to seeing other people's favorite things list!

Thanks for having me Amy!

I hope you will stop by and say hello to Kelly at The Essence of Home!
