BEST OF THE WEEKEND: BIRTHDAY EDITION

Happy Friday, everyone!
Glad to see you here at Best Of The Weekend.
Another summer has unofficially come to an end,
but the weather says otherwise.
We have been in the grips of another heat wave,
and my frizzy hair has been ugly proof of the raging humidity levels.

This weekend, yours truly is celebrating a birthday!
I'm at a point in my life where I don't want gifts;
I'd rather do something special.
So, Mr. GS and I are sneaking away for a couple of nights
to a place I have wanted to go to for awhile now.
It's just over 100 miles away,
but I'm hoping it will feel a world away.
My camera battery is fully charged,
and so am I!

Alrighty, then, let's get BOTW started now!

We'd appreciate it if you'd follow your co-hosts!

  2. Happy Birthday Amy! I hope you enjoy your weekend at that special place, and if it's what you posted on your insta then I will be visiting too. It was my favorite summer place when I was young. Nowadays we go for the fresh vegetables. Thanks so much for the feature and for hosting.

  5. Happy happy birthday, Amy! I'm so glad you're observing it in your favorite way, traveling to someplace new. I wonder where it could be?

I must tell you that when I sent a link to your Danube River travels to our son, telling him that I hoped that someday you could meet each other when he's in Manhattan, I wondered if he would take the time to read what his momma sent him as he is so covered up in online time at work. When he and the family were in visiting us last weekend he and our daughter-in-law and I were up talking at midnight and I asked him about it. He smiled big and said he spent 30 minutes reading through your travels--Amy, that's a compliment in itself. But he saw what I meant about you two being so similar in exploring the cities and said he would definitely let me know when a trip to the home office gives him a couple of hours to see if you're in town and could meet him for lunch. See, Momma does know best sometime!
