Winter? What winter?
We were hoping to avoid it by spending the month of February in Florida.
It was a wonderful respite.........
but just like last year, we drove home to a full-blown
March-comes-in-like-a-lion snow storm.
It did seem a bit harsh to go from flip flops to snow boots,
but I'm not complaining (well, maybe just a tad).
In the mean time, until this month goes out like Mary's little lamb,
I'll keep my sanity by remembering those
scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind in the Sunshine State.....
Yep, that's the way we were in February.........
We arrived in Florida to a not-so-welcoming welcome.
Things quickly improved, and we were back where we belonged!
Our home away from home was a one-bedroom condo.
We shared the pool and tiki hut with three other units. (I spy Mr. GS on the right side of the photo).
The backyard foliage was lush and tropical.
Many lazy days were spent at the beach.
The fishing pier is the main focal point of Deerfield Beach.
For $1, a short walk out on a long pier offers a different perspective.
It is particularly spectacular at sunset.
There were beverages by day........
And beverages by night.
No, this is not a gift from Mr. Goo Shoes........it's a rest room at the Tin Muffin cafe in Boca Raton.
Pioneer Days, a weekend festival on the beach with music, food, adult beverages was a fun way to spend an evening...........
.....especially when topped off with fireworks on the beach!
In a Royal Tern of events, the snow birds met a sand bird.
This view sparks joy.......how I wish it were mine!
Four friends go out to dinner, and we notice our shoes. To be filed under "What Are The Chances?"
Mizner Park, with restaurants and shops, is my kind of park.
The Wakodahatchee Wetlands bird preserve in Delray Beach was a great place to spend a cloudy afternoon.
If White Walkers were birds they'd look like this (#gameofthrones).......
The rains came and cut our bird-watching short, but there's always next year.
Misty water-colored memories of the way we were...
...If we had the chance to do it all again, would we? Could we?
Hell, yeah.
