It's not easy being green...
when you don't have any specific St. Patrick's Day recipes.
No corned beef and cabbage.
No shamrock cookies.
No Irish soda bread.
No leprechaun hat cupcakes.
No blarney scones.
No, it's not easy being green.
But it's not impossible, either.
Here's a round-up of some of my favorite green foods.
Silky Zucchini Soup |
Basil Mayonnaise |
No-Bake Key Lime Pie |
Frittata Muffins |
Pineapple Cucumber Gazpacho Oh, there's one other thing that these recipes have in common besides being green. I can't spell I can't spell I can't spell I can't spell I'm good with pie, though. *************** I haven't been around much, these last few weeks, and I feel a little like this. (You may remember him from here). As you may know, I'm chairing a huge fundraiser for my (I can't spell that, either), I've been working my hiney off for the last six months, and the event is finally happening this Sunday. It's kept me SUPER busy, so... I'm way behind on answering all of your lovely comments... I can barely crank out a blog post... I've hardly had time to visit my blogger friends... I can just about get dinner on the table... and, I haven't decided what to wear on Sunday (if you know me, that is NOT my style)! Anyway, I hope you'll forgive me, and know that after this week, I'll be back, full force! In the meantime, I'll be over at A Little Claireification on Thursday, and back for Best Of The Weekend on Friday night. If you've never linked up on BOTW, I hope you'll give it a try! I noticed that there are a lot of recipes linked up each week, but I love to see some of you with decorating or diy posts link up, too! Enjoy! Thank you for this recipe collection, I am looking forward to cook the one or other meal for St. Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes and best of luck for a successful fundraiser,
Merisi
Zucchini soup, lime pie and basil mayonnaise sound good to me. I'll go for them. I've now bigger trouble with spelling too because of word suggestion in my tab, now I can't spell independently.
ReplyDeleteI'd love it if you could do some posts about the fundraiser. You know, pics and all the deets! Judy M.
ReplyDeleteI surely will be doing that, Judy!
DeleteThat pie looks tasty!
ReplyDeleteI hope the fundraiser goes well :)
The avocado- hummus seems the yummiest recipe right now... I need avocado as I'm lacking a vitamin that is in it (it often happens to me at the end of winter).
ReplyDeleteVery clever! These all sound good to me. I might just be hungry or it could be because green is my favorite color.
ReplyDeleteOy! Happy Purim

Good luck with your event - I have chaired my fair share of events and I know how much work it can be, but what an accomplished feeling once a success!
ReplyDeleteWe'll all be here when you can get back to blogging regularly again! Best wishes for a successful event and enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI'll be back to link up on Friday.
ReplyDeleteSo funny that I finally get back to reading blogs again and hit upon this one where it sounds like you've also been a bit absent from the blogosphere as well. Good luck with your event. Loved the 'wearin' o' the green' in this post!
ReplyDeleteI'll take a slice of that key lime pie please. I love that in the summer time. It's light and tart. Good luck with your big event this Sunday! I know you will be glad when you can sit back and reflect on it instead of prepare for it.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks good but my favorites are key lime pie and I've got to try zucchini soup.
