September is the perfect time for a road trip......or three.
The weather is usually beautiful;
and the crowds of summer are gone.
Our September road trips took us north, south, and east........
one to Long Island's North Fork..........
another to the Catskill Mountains in NY state,
and a third to Asbury Park, NJ.
Aside from that, I split my time between my backyard and New York City.
Live life........That's my motto.
Kicked off the month celebrating my birthday!
The best birthday gifts are the kind you can't wrap.
Backyard view through crepe myrtle branches.
Road Trip #1: Mini birthday vacay to Greenport on the North Fork of Long Island.
Portion control: mini ice cream cone. Then again, if you have one every day..........
Road trip #2: 70-mile drive to Resorts World Casino in the Catskill Mountains. Came back the same day........with $25 more in our wallets than when we got there.
Both sides of the new Tappan Zee Bridge are finally open after a scare that the old bridge could topple onto the new one. Yikes.
That face......
My face got a workout at Saks Fifth Avenue's new Face Gym in NYC. Facial included a warm up, cardio, and muscle stimulation. That's me, post-workout, face looking buff.
Lawn jockey statues at the 21 Club in NYC, welcoming famous and affluent guests since 1929.
Been hankering for a dress made out of 187 soup cans? "One Of A Kind Luxury" exhibit featured 20 dresses made out of unusual objects by students of the School Of Visual Arts in NYC.
Any guesses about this one? What? I can't hear you!
It took 2528 foam earplugs to make this. I'd wear it, would you?
My artistic abilities are a little more primitive.
My beloved Lord & Taylor's on Fifth Avenue is downsizing. Farewell, best shoe department in the entire world.......
Road trip #3: An overnight to Asbury Park, NJ to see Melanie in concert.
"Well, I've got a brand new pair of roller skates, you got a brand new key........."
Oh, what a tangled web we weaved. Or not. Looks pretty darn perfect to me.
My front porch has been mummified.
BIG announcement coming next week!
Till next time....

I love these posts. Your hand drawn picture is perfect! That ice cream is crazy small but sometimes you have to indulge a little. Your mums look gorgeous! I decided not to get any this year because they don't do well on my front porch....not enough sun :-( Happy Fall!!
