Is there anything more glorious than a day on the

I live only about 70 miles from the ocean..........
yet..........
I can't remember the last time I went "down the shore"
(that's Jersey-speak for going to the beach).
Seems like sometimes, it's easier to plan a beach trip halfway around the world
than to plan a 90-minute drive down the parkway.
Why is that?
I guess that when I'm here at home, I'm busy doing
STUFF.
Stuff to keep the household running........
Stuff to take care of the family........
Stuff to keep my blog going.........
The hard stuff, the right stuff........
Stuffing my face.........
Strutting my stuff.........
Sweating the small stuff........
and stuff like that.
Right now, with all of you here as my witnesses,
I do solemnly swear that I will
get our beach stuff together........
the chairs, the umbrella, the sunscreen, the towels.........
and head down the shore
to Exit 105 on the Garden State Parkway sometime soon.
In the meantime, I'll bask in the memories
of glorious beaches I've been to around the world.

Armchair beach days can be good........
At least you won't get sunburned.

So many beautiful beaches!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I can say I've been there. We don't get on the Parkway because once we're on we say, predictable. Traffic nightmare going down there.
ReplyDeleteThe other beaches were beautiful.
Enjoy your weekend.

You’ve been to some amazing beaches Amy, and I’m happy to say I’ve been to many of the same as well. I’m wondering if you have a fav?
ReplyDeleteOh wow!!! Love how you've "written your name in the sand" on so many beautiful beaches. I've only been to two of those that you've posted (Positano and Sorrento in Italy). So many more to discover. I always feel like I am in the right place and in awe when I'm on a beach - no matter where it is.
ReplyDeleteYou HAVE been to glorious beaches, and boy, do they look good now! Just finished a good day of sailing on Lake Michigan. Blue skies, blue water, long needed!
ReplyDeleteYou have visited many beautiful beaches Amy. I have been to a few of them myself and enjoyed looking at the photos. Have a nice week and a Happy 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteawesome article.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing :)
Wow these are all stunning beaches Love Italy and Greece but I didn't know the US had such gorgeous beaches as well
ReplyDeleteOh, that Sorrento picture gave me a twinge of memories and longing to go back. The Iceland one LOOKS cold! Lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteAmy, I enjoyed the beach tour. I would love to be 90 minutes from the beach; close enough for a day trip. I live 3 hours from a beach. Have a great 4th!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine collection of world-class beaches.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
So very gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see those beaches, hope you get down to visit one soon :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I clicked to the beach post after reading your pool post. I'm more of a beach girl.
ReplyDeleteMy son and his wife live in Santa Monica with a view of the pic you posted. It's pretty, but I'd take our beach in Ventura over it. We lived on the north coast of Jamaica in the 70's and I would county Port Antonia as one of the most gorgeous beaches I've visited and our favorite is Hanalei Bay on Kauai.
Positano is on our list and is the Cinque Terra
