You'll have to wait to the end of this post to find out why
(unless, of course, you've seen my Instagram feed -- then you already know the reason!).
October is always one of my favorite months of the year,
but this year was special for a variety of reasons.
but this year was special for a variety of reasons.
Temperatures were warmer than average,
making for comfortable Indian summer days, and crisp nights.
We were fortunate to see a music icon at a unique concert experience on Broadway;
and we had a blast visiting Junior Goo Shoes at our first college parents' weekend.
and at the end of the month, I crossed a BIG item off my bucket list.
It was a most excellent month.
It was a most excellent month.
Autumn's glorious colors provided eye candy at every turn.......
Various appointments in New York City took me through Bryant Park.......
and Grand Central Terminal.......
Down Fifth Avenue past the magnificent Temple Emanu-el.......
and across the street from the Plaza Hotel.
Look carefully at the black-windowed building --
that's a reflection of the Plaza Hotel in the lower mid-section of the picture.
Back home in New Jersey,
a friend and I visited this year's Designer Showhouse.

I'm scratching my head over what people do with so many rooms.
Just chop off the sides, and give me the center section with the columns
and the front door (so we can get in), and I'll be quite content, thank you.

October had some other head-scratchers.......
like, why does "rsvps" auto-correct to "tacos"?
And then there's the girl who always likes to get her head scratched.
There were more than two tasty cocktails.......
and a couple of interesting things were spotted on sidewalks.
I was giddy with excitement when we scored tickets to Bruce Springsteen On Broadway!
What a show! It's worthy of its own blog post, perhaps.
The new Tappan Zee Bridge opened in both directions.......
and The Honeymooners show opened at a local playhouse.
Hamina-hamina-hamina - it was cute!
Our first Parent's Weekend at college was so exciting!
We got a kick out of seeing how the boys decorated the living room of their suite.
Junior GS showed us the library........
and the path he takes to English 101.
Can I sign up for college here? Please?
We went to an exciting college hockey game, and won in overtime!
And finally, there was a trip to a destination that's been on my bucket list for years.......
ICELAND!!!
It's an amazing country, filled with waterfalls, glaciers, beautiful horses,
warm and friendly people, and fantastic food!
I'll be sharing the details in upcoming blog posts,
so stay tuned!
