My Photo Diary: October

October Photo Diary - Ms. Toody Goo Shoes

I love the colors of October.
November 1st is here, with rain and gusty winds,
washing fall's hues away.
The events of the past month are a colorful blur,
fortunately, captured below to jog the memory.
Time to start thinking about Thanksgiving, the holidays, and New Year's Eve,
which will be here in a blink.
Sheesh.
Slow down, time...slow down...
I need more than the extra hour that we'll get tonight.

My list of favorite aromas ignited a craving for sauteed peppers and onions (and turkey sausage) for dinner.

Dinner with my BFF to celebrate our birthdays at Marea (Central Park South and 7th Ave.). Yes, I did buy a new outfit in the middle of the day.

The squirrels are eating my hair-sprayed, cayenne-peppered pumpkin. Very sophisticated palates.

Junior GS was playing with my new camera. I don't know what setting he had it on to get this shot. It's like the Waterlogue ap, right in the camera.

Times Square Station; 42nd Street, waiting for the R train to SoHo. Terrible picture, I know, but there are some places it's not OK to look like a tourist. Had to sneak this one on my cell phone.

  2. I always enjoy seeing your monthly photo diaries. I can live vicariously through you, since you're a big city girl! LOL! I would be SUCH a tourist in NYC. it would be very obvious. I can't believe how many trick or treaters you get! That's a lot. We don't get very many. We live in the back of our subdivision so people often tire out by the time they reach us. Our weather wasn't very good last night either. My son stayed home and handed out candy instead of going out. He has decided he's too old now to trick or treat. So, he's been eating the leftover candy we gave out instead.

  4. I absolutely LOVE your monthly photo diary! Where you live is so different from my small town in Oregon. It's fun to see New York vicariously through you :) I had 15 Trick or Treaters, the most I've ever had.

  5. Wonderful as always! You captured October perfectly! Love all the carved pumpkins....we have a local farm market that does that....quite creative. We're bah humbug on Halloween! We leave our village home before the trick or treaters come by and go out to dinner. When we get back they are all done! I couldn't face 350 kids!!

  8. Love them all! I can't believe how different our foliage experience is; we are down to brown leaves or bare trees in NW CT but it was beautiful while it lasted! Can't wait to taste the egg cups now that I can eat eggs again!
