I thought, ok, cool, I like lobster as much, if not more than the next gal, but would that be a reason to be nominated for a Lobster award?
Nevertheless, I started getting all exciting about buying a fancy dress, walking down the red carpet, accepting my Lobster trophy, and thanking my family, friends…and every restaurant I ever ate a lobster in.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh….
Honestly, I would have been less surprised if I'd been nominated for a Lobster than a Liebster…
…but I'm much happier to have been nominated for a Liebster than a Lobster.
So, thank you, Sunnefa from Coder Mommy (all the way from Iceland!!) I am honored that you nominated me!
Now, I understand that it's not really an award…it's more like a blog-style chain letter sent to bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers...or in my case, WAY fewer.
The nominee has to follow these rules:
1. Acknowledge the person who nominated them.
2. Share 11 random facts about themselves.
3. Answer 11 Liebster questions given to them by the nominator.
4. Nominate 11 other bloggers who have under 200 followers (NEW BLOGGERS: See my challenge below).
5. Come up with 11 questions for your nominees.
6. Notify the bloggers whom you have nominated (Note: You cannot nominate the person who nominated you).
OK, the pressure is now on for me to come up with 11 random selfie facts:
1. I kissed Bruce Springsteen on the cheek when I was in college, when he came to a dance at the student center.
2. I didn't really even know what a blog was when I decided I was going to start one. That's me…jump in head first.
3. For a person who spent years in the television business, I watch very little TV. My two favorite TV shows are Newsroom and Homeland.
4. My hobby is making digital photobooks, although who's had time since I started this blog?
5. I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking.
6. I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. When it looks good, it looks very very good, and when it looks bad, it looks awful.
7. I am superstitious. If I wear my NY Giants jersey while watching them play, they'll lose.
8. People have told me I look like Sarah Jessica Parker. I'm flattered, but I'm not sure she would be:)
9. I am terrified of bats, for no apparent reason.
10. I never leave the house without concealer, lipstick and eyebrow pencil. Yup, vanity is a pain in the hiney.
11. If I could, I would exist on bread and cheese.
1. What's your favorite meal of the day?
That's easy -- Breakfast -- pancakes, waffles, French toast, bagels, bacon, sausage, omelettes. Need I say more?
2. What's your favorite fruit?
I don't think I ever met a fruit I didn't like. Watermelon definitely ranks up there
in my top five, and I love every kind of berry. But, it might just be that
avocado is my favorite fruit.
3. When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?When I was five, I didn't want to grow up! Nothing really comes to mind,
but I probably wanted to be something meaningful…like Barbie.
4. What quality do you find most attractive in others?
Kindness.
Just think of what the world would be like if everyone was kind to one another.
5. What's your favorite sport?
This is easier to answer than the fruit question -- Football!
I am a huge fan of the NY Giants.
6. Gold or Silver?
Gold, of course...as in 14 or 18 Karat, preferably adorned with some diamonds ;)
Gummies and Jellybeans!
And it's not beneath me to hide them from my family.
8. What's your favorite online shopping site?
Is this a trick question? Just one???
it's so much fun to browse through them. But I probably buy the most from Amazon.
9. What's your pet peeve?
It really bugs me when people text when they are driving.
10. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall?
Summer! It brings barbeques, beach days, lazy days, lobster ice cream. (sorry, the lobster thing just slipped out).
11. How many pairs of shoes do you have?
This is embarrassing, but too many to count. I'm guessing just south of 100 pairs of shoes, and I'm proud of it! Hey, they don't call me Ms. Toody Goo "Shoes" for nothing.
And now, about the 11 blogs I am supposed to nominate for Liebsters…Um, almost everyone I follow has like thousands of followers, or, has already been nominated for a Liebster. I think I'm one of the last ones :) I don't want to nominate blogs that I really don't read, just for the sake of picking some.
So, yes, Ms. Toody is a bit of a "Miss Goody Two Shoes" in this case, yet not so much that I can't break the sacred Liebster rules just a tiny bit:
Here is my challenge:
If you are a blogger with under 200 followers,
please leave me a comment with your blog link below. I will select my nominees from those responses, and then do a separate post on all of my nominees.
If you are an established blogger, please leave me a comment if you follow a new blogger that you like.
If you are an established blogger, please leave me a comment if you follow a new blogger that you like.
Thank you, again, Sunnefa! I had a lot of fun being nominated for a
Ms. Toody

Congrats on the award. I loved it when I received mine. Follow Cloches and Lavender if you don't already do so. I am a follower of yours!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Thanks, Cynthia! I am definitley going to check out Cloches and Lavender. And thanks for following me :)
DeleteLOL what a fun post - congratulations Amy!!!
ReplyDeleteI have south of a 100 pairs of shoes too - it's a sickness - let's just call it what it is, k??? LMHO
I had lunch with John Malkovitch - would rather have kissed Bruce Springsteen on the cheek any day :)
XOXO
Well, I knew I liked you for a reason, Suzan...we are shoe-fetish compatible. It is a sickness! Clothes may not always fit, but shoes always do. Hmmm..I'd love to hear the Malkovitch story, but I'd take Bruce, too.
DeleteThank you, that was a delightful read! :-)
ReplyDelete(Just pretend I did not comment!)
I'm glad you did comment, Merisi! Glad you enjoyed.
DeleteI went faint after your first revelation.....you kissed Bruce Springsteen?? I am sooooo jealous!!!! xo
ReplyDeleteJust on the cheek, Barbara. I walked right up to him, told him I was a huge fan, and planted a wet one on his cheek. It was great for me -- for him, probably not so much!
DeleteSo nice to meet you, Amy!!! I'm traveling now but hope to explore your blog more when I'm back in town :) We have a lot in common...love of shoes, cheese and bread to start with!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, nice to meet you, too. Glad we'll be "working" together on the dinner!
DeleteI love learning new things about my blogger friends. I'm could survive onr cheese and bread too - just add wine! I'm not sure I've ever known anyone who has owned so many shoes - lol...
ReplyDeleteWell, part of my problem, Eileen, is that I can't throw them out. I always think that they'll I'll wear them "someday." I like to think of myself as a collector;)
DeleteI really enjoyed this post! Were you a writer at your TV job? You have a great way with words. Just curious. I really enjoyed learning more about you. I'm a huge fan of Homeland too, btw. I can't wait for the season premiere later this month! You cracked me up about the whole lobster thing. Now you're making me hungry for lobster! Congrats on being recognized for the Leibster Award.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly. No, I wasn't a writer, I was in charge of scheduling the programs. You know, like, hey, let's put this show on at 9:00pm on Sunday. That kind of thing. But I've always loved writing, so glad you enjoyed. I can't wait for Homeland, either. Are you watching Ray Donovan on Showtime? We are enjoying that, too.
DeleteI can't enter my name for the award, but I can add my thoughts on this post - GREAT! First of all, you had me drooling at all the lobster pictures. I have never, ever met a lobster that I didn't want to devour. That lobster roll was torture to see, with no possibility of lobster in my near future. Second - I liked learning a wee bit more about you. That was fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pondside! No lobster for me anytime soon, either. Just a Leibster roll, maybe!
DeleteCongrats to you! Well deserved! I love lobster, shoes, and I eat a lot of bread and cheese. I'd happily take one of those Lobster rolls!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michelle! I think I'll have to wait till next summer till I sink my teeth into another lobster roll!
DeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post and loved learning more about what makes you tick! Got it: lobster, avocado, kindness and gold, to name a few. Oh yes, and SHOES! Well, if your gonna have 100 pairs, they'd better be pretty and yours sure are!
Poppy
Well, now you have me all figured out :)
DeleteFunny - and such an exciting award - loved learning more about you! Gold for me too as an accent on my arm and in my home!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by...Never too much gold, right?
DeleteCongrats on your award! Love reading all about you. You're so cute!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jody
Thanks, Jody! Glad you enjoyed.
DeleteHi Amy! So glad to have been introduced to you and your wonderful blog through Eileen! I'm looking forward to our Fall Harvest Dinner together! Congratulations on you well deserved Liebster Award! Being a Bostonian at heart, I, too, was excited to see all the 'Lobstah'! And I also happened to take the tour of your beautiful home! I love every inch of it...especially that beautiful red door! Looking forward to enjoying more of your fun posts! : )
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne! Looking forward to the collaboration at Eileen's!
DeleteAmy- I saw you on someone's blog earlier and commented that I loved the name of your blog. Thanks for leaving me a comment today. Did you know that you come through as a No Reply blogger when you leave a comment? I could not respond to your comment because of that. If you don't know how to fix it -let me know and I will email you the instructions.
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower. I am quite a bit older than you but we have a LOT in common-from working in TV to being freaked out by bats. lol xo Diana
Hi Diana, thanks for following, and for the offer to help. I did send you an email. Would love to hear more about your career in TV.
DeleteI'm afraid of bats as well, and there are tons of them every summer evening around the Little White House!
ReplyDeleteOh, Magali, I'm going to pretend you never told me about the bats at the Little White House ;) I prefer my idyllic vision of it!
DeleteThat cracked me up that you are scared of bats for no apparent reason because I am scared of them too, then I realized it was also for no apparent reason. It's not like I run into them in my day to day life! Just found your blog and started following. I love that I got to know you better right from the start!
ReplyDelete-Khammany
Hi Toodie (I do love your name!)...glad you liked the story. I will definitely hop on over to your blog!
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! Love reading your posts! This one was fantastic.... makes for a big smile.
ReplyDeleteCame by to let you know that it's never too early for fruity and healthy :) Sangria White!
~Denise (and Sharon too since it says HER name) :)
Thank you! That makes me feel great! And now that I know it's not too early for sangria…you'll excuse me while I go make a pitcher!
DeleteCongratulations Amy, well deserved! If I may, a new blog friend of mine has under 100 followers. Ann @ SummersAcres.blogspot.com. Thanks for linking up at My Favorite Posts Show Off Weekend Party! Hope to see you again next week.
ReplyDeleteMichelle @ On A Wing And A Prayer
I will absolutely check out your friend's blog. Thanks for coming by!
DeleteThey've already gotten a Liebster!
DeleteCongratulations Amy, I had a lot of fun finding nominees. :) Thank you so much for joining us and sharing at Best of the Weekend! Pinning to our party board, and we hope to see you again on Friday.
ReplyDeleteThanks - I've been checking out lots of blogs, and hope to write my follow up with nominees soon! Thanks for hosting the party!
DeleteThis was fun...I loved reading all the little tidbits about yourself! Can't believe you smooched Bruce. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jennifer…I will check it out!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann! It was more like a peck than a smooch! And you can be sure I enjoyed it more than he did!
