Is May really almost over?
It's not that this has been the nicest May, weather-wise;
nor has it been a particularly good month, personally...
still, I'm not so ready to shut the screen door on it just yet.
Although I look forward to summer more than any other season,
I don't want it to get here too quickly.
I've been doing my best to savor spring,
but I'd like to be able to press a slow-mo button right about now.
Maybe I'll have to invent one that slows down time, and go on Shark Tank.
Late spring and early summer is when my house is at it's best.
Late spring and early summer is when my house is at it's best.
Oh, wait - I think I say that about fall, too.
Whatever.
Here are a few snippets from around the house.
*************
Lots of planting being done.
Most of the Rhododendrons took a beating this winter,
but not this one.
Someone moved into the new bird house.
And someone moved into the vent.
We can't turn the fan on in the bathroom,
or we'll blow them out.
No luck with hummingbirds yet :(
Angry bird.
Angry me.
Brand new lantern, gone.
Tiny Lilies of the Valley.
Mini Flower Power in the kitchen.
Wheels.
Wheel of Misfortune...
It cracked during the last storm.
Grand old rusty flag.
Love me some lavender.
So, although I'm dismayed that May may be over...
soon it will be June, and I'll be over the moon.
Bring it.

I love the snippets from around your home. The birds are thriving in your yard,
ReplyDeleteeven the grumpy crow. ??
Happy June!
Amy, I always love your photos! That crow looks a bit menacing! Happy Weekend.

ReplyDeleteYou've got some fascinating photos here Amy. Sorry about the damage though.
ReplyDeleteI hope whatever was not so great about May for you personally has been worked out.
(Looks like a spammer found his way here with the comment before mine)
I like the month of May too. A lot of fun things going on and the weather isn't too hot yet. You know we had some bushes that didn't come back good this Spring too. I think the Winter caused it. We had some very cold temps here and so our gardenia bushes aren't thriving like usual and some of our bermuda grass beside our driveway isn't doing so well. I loved your bird pics!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is so beautiful! Love the picture of the snow drop :) Not sure if it can thrive down under here in Western Australia, though. I love how lovely everything is put together. You make me miss spring flowers. It's winter here in Australia.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful garden!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see what surrounds you every day! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, your photos are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAmy, your snippets of late spring around your home look like lots of fabulous fun, from filling little pots of lovelies, to bikes parked on your front lawn, the month of May certainly seemed full of activities!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Poppy
I absolutely love this! Thanks for sharing it with us. Pinned and tweeted. I hope to see you tomorrow night at 7 pm. We can't wait to party with you! Lou Lou Girls
ReplyDeleteOh you have such great bird shots !!! :) Love all of the photos but I bust out laughing at Angry Bird :)
ReplyDeleteI love the tour of your garden - so many special things really make a heart sing. My favorite was the pile of bikes. Now that's a sign of summer vacation!
ReplyDeleteThings look lovely at your house! Thank you for joining Home Sweet Home!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I do miss spring in a climate that actually has 4 seasons! The Bougainvillea is really good at attracting birds, but I don't have green grass or big trees to make the yard "look" like spring. I will just have to come back and keep staring at yours. :)
