FAVORITE THINGS: LET'S ADD SPRINKLES

Hello, friends! Welcome back to Favorite Things!
My guest this week is Katie, from Let's Add Sprinkles.
I will forever be grateful to Katie, as she was my very first blog follower!
Katie lives in Texas, and is always making home improvements,
or changing up her farmhouse decor.
She amazes me with her DIY talents -- she is a wiz with power tools!
Her love of family and faith also play a major role her blog posts,
and I adore her writing style.

Take it away, Katie!

Thank you, Amy, for inviting me to share my favorite things with you.
Ms. Toody Goo Shoes was one of my very first blogging friends.
Someday, I hope that we will have the opportunity to meet in person.
Let me tell you, I was disappointed to find out that we were both in
New York City on the same day.
What a missed opportunity.
I would have loved to get to know this special blogging friend in real life.

New York is absolutely one of my favorite places
but what are some of my favorite things?
My favorite things aren't things at all
but I don't think that is what you've here come to read.

I've come to the conclusion that my favorite things have a story.

https://katietreasures.blogspot.com/2014/08/trash-pick-dresser-mystery-solved.html

How is it that I pull something out of a neighbor's trash and it ends up having belonged to one of my very good friend's grandmother?

My favorite things remind me of people I love.

My grandmother's spice rack has always had a place of honor in our homes.

Something that was made for me by someone I love is an immediate favorite.

My husband made our dish dresser.

My dad made our Farmhouse Style kitchen table.

I love things that are perfectly imperfect.

I adore an object that is being used for something other than that
for which it was designed.

My favorite things require maintenance and a little effort.

Sometimes my favorite things take a while to come to fruition.

They may have been discarded by someone else.

A favorite might be something that took a bit of sleuthing to find.

I love coffee, comfy pants, dancing to pop music, teaching, blogging, old houses...
Oh my.
There is so much to love.

I am blessed.
Thanks for reading.
Katie

I hope you will visit Katie at Let's Add Sprinkles!

Favorite Things will be back on Sunday, August 21!

  3. I do love her favorites here: things that have a story and are associated with happy memories. And that they do take a little effort, as all good things do. Very nice!
