Thank you, Amy! I have just finished frying a gazillion frikadeller - the mixture had to rest in the fridge overnight. Now on to the mustard sauces and mayonnaise.........lots of work now for a completely decadent and relaxing dinner tonight. If you'd like, I'll send you my frikadeller recipe. Wishing you and your family all the best in the New Year! It's been a treat to have discovered your blog.
Thank you, and I have to admit, curiosity got the better of me, so I had to google Frikadeller, and yes, I would love your recipe, now that I know what it is! I sent you an email earlier, and you will see that my guess was way off! All the best in the new year to you and yours!
Have you guys been affected by the ice storm that caused half a million Ontario households to be without power since Saturday night? My sister's home, where my daughter lives, has, and they have been sleeping with several layers of clothing, their coats and lighting the fireplace for a few days now. The power is still not restored and they are making their way to my brother's as I write this, to spend Christmas there!! I have been very worried and anxious, to say the least.
Hi Poppy, No, we have been spared that ice storm. We are south of it, but I have been hearing on the news about Canada and New England. In fact, we have had unseasonably mild weather (70's for the last 2 days!), but today it is cold again, and may snow a little later tonight. I'm sorry to hear that your sister and daughter are among those affected, but I am glad that they are headed to your brother's, which hopefully, isn't too far away, and that you will hear soon that they have arrived safely. I know how much you wanted to be with your family for Christmas, and understand how this added anxiety is weighing on you. Soon they will be someplace safe and warm, and hopefully, you'll be able to relax. I wish I could do more than send encouraging words...so another cross-Atlantic hug is on its way to you! Amy xoxo

After retiring from a lengthy career in the TV industry, and now a part-time empty-nester, I've got a little more time on my hands -- time to travel, dream about travel, reminisce about travel, and write about travel! I've self-diagnosed myself with incurable wanderlust, but I just can't pick up and go whenever I want to. Follow me as I strive to incorporate travel into my everyday life, whether I'm headed to an exotic locale, off on a one-day excursion, or doing some serious armchair traveling.

Have a magical Christmas! I read in the comment you were out of the ice storm, which is a relief!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Magali! I was sorry to read in your post that you were hit with a big storm just before Christmas. I hope you had a good holiday.
