Just a few random thoughts on this rainy Friday.

In the Park:
Raise your hands if you used to play this game...
Duck...Duck...GOOSE!
********************
In My Lap:
Sweet Sadie-Girl likes to sit on my lap and rest her head on my computer while I'm working.
I guess that makes her a lap(top) dog.

In The Newspaper:
Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch bought a 6850-square foot penthouse apartment in NYC that cost $43 million. You heard me...$43 million!
It wasn't big enough, so he bought the entire 57th floor below it, to combine them. Total cost? $57 million. Let me say that again.
$57 million.
Would have made for a pretty good episode on Hou$e Hunter$ Bazillionaire$, don't you think?

In My Archives:
Four years ago today, we were in St. Maarten with our friends whom we had met in Aruba the year before...enjoying the sunset at the marina in Marigot...and stuffing our faces with the best profiteroles in the entire world.
The. Entire. World.
Hmmmm...maybe I should have shown the profiteroles picture.
OK, you twisted my arm. Here they are in all their chocolate splendor.
And that's the way the profiter rolls!

(Only) In New York City:
There's a new ATM in town. In this one, you put money into it...and out comes a cupcake (Hopefully not through a thin slot)! It's open 24/7, so you can head out in your jammies in the middle of the night, and satisfy your cravings. The Cupcake ATM is on 61st and Lexington, holds 750 freshly-baked cupcakes ($4.50 each), and -- get this -- you can even buy two mini cupcakes for your dog!
Now that's what I call a "dangerous" neighborhood.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Oh. My. Goodness. That looks like the best dessert ever! I've never even heard of profitroles before. And the cupcake ATM is genius.
ReplyDeleteI cannot even tell you had good the profiteroles were! I've had them in other places, but these were the best. It is a French dessert, and we had them in a restaurant on the French side of St. Maarten, which explains why they were so awesome!
DeleteI wonder if that guy with the penthouse is looking for an old married slightly chubby girlfriend?;>) How close it is to the cupcake machine? lol xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm sure he is! It's not that close to the cupcake machine, but don't worry...with all that money, he'll just send his driver to pick them up!
DeleteGotta tell my husband about that cupcake machine! He is a NYC native and I don't think they had them when he lived there! Gonna have to google profitroles to get a recipe!
ReplyDeleteThis is the very first "cupcake ATM" in NYC -- it just opened this week. Profiteroles are like cream puffs, but filled with ice cream. Heavenly!
DeleteWow, a cupcake ATM. What will they think of next.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it? I wish it was me who had thought of it!
DeleteSome people have too much money for their own and everybody else's good. A cupcake ATM, how funny :)
ReplyDeleteI hope he at least donates a good party of it to charity. I know, I think the ATM is a brilliant idea!
DeleteI need a cupcake ATM near me right now. Bill and I were just craving chocolate cake. Sounds like some have lost their grip on reality with that penthouse. Love, love your laptop dog. Mine does the same thing. She wants my full attention.
ReplyDeleteThose profiteroles look amazing.
Thanks, Katie! It's a good think I don't live anywhere near a cupcake ATM! I know, can you imagine one man in all that space? Gotta love our pups who want our constant attention. I can't even tell you how amazing those profiteroles were! A-MAZ-ING! There, I told you!
DeleteWow, 57 million, couldn't you stay for many years in the finest hotels and not have to worry about upkeep and taxes, or maid service, hot meals. Probably get some laundry done with that also. LOL Cracks me up how the rich think. Well I would love one of those chocolate gooey messes. Wish our bank would put in one of the cupcake atm's. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteAnd he's single! I guess with that much money, he doesn't need to worry about anything! Crazy, right? Let's start a petition -- a cupcake ATM in every bank!
DeleteOh my gosh, all of your tidbits are calling out WOWZERS! Cupcake ATM, now that takes the cake!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy! I am just happy that there is no cupcake ATM near my house!
DeleteCupcake ATM? Now that's innovative!
ReplyDeleteOnly wish it had been my idea!
DeleteI'll have to share the cupcake ATM with my kids who live in Manhattan. They'll love that!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Isn't that a great idea? I heard the lines have been really long!
DeleteSo you were creative way back when! Doesn't surprise me, Claire! Oh - were you guys in the bidding war with us for that apartment? Yeah, we wanted it, too, but he bid just a little more than we could afford, lol.
ReplyDeleteAll this money spent and he doesn't even have a garden... I prefer my cottage. What he can create a garden in one of the tiniest room that is twice as big as my whole cottage???
ReplyDeleteMy cats do the same as your dog... I think they are lap-top cats as well!
I agree, Magali Size isn't everything! I somehow think that is was better hundreds of years ago when families shared a one-room house...ok, two rooms...(we need a little privacy! I much prefer cozy to palatial.
DeleteNow what does that say about the society we live in when there is a cupcake ATM? LOL! Those chocolate desserts looked amazing! I can't believe that someone bought something for millions of dollars and it STILL wasn't big enough. Makes you wonder how selfish he is when there are families like The Duggars living just fine in a much smaller place and they really DO need the room! I get so turned off by people that have to live in a huge place and they don't even have kids or a real need for it. Their priorities are so messed up. Again, that speaks volumes about our society.
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Kelly! It's a lot of space for most families, let alone one person. I can't even fathom that much money! Now the cupcake ATM, on the other hand...that's a beautiful thing!
DeleteLOVE the cupcake ATM!
ReplyDeleteI had to go check it out for myself --very cool! I did not withdraw one, though :)
