This is Part 5 of a multi-part series.
Are you old enough to remember The Beverly Hillbillies?
I used to love that show.
Darn! I just revealed that I am THAT old!
So now that it's out in the open,
I can tell you that as a kid, I used to fantasize about
what it would be like to live in a mansion like that.
what it would be like to live in a mansion like that.
After visiting the Blairsden Mansion,
and seeing 52 of its rooms,
I know I'd feel like a hillbilly if I lived in that house.
If you missed my previous posts on this magnificent mansion,
you can find Part 1 here; Part 2 here; Part 3 here and Part 4 here.
If you are interested seeing where the rooms are located on the floor plan,

I've saved one of the best parts for penultimate chapter of the mega mansion --

I've saved one of the best parts for penultimate chapter of the mega mansion --
the Master Suite, and its surrounding areas.
It's a long walk to the bedroom from most places in the house,
so it's good that there's a little place to rest just outside the bedroom.
I couldn't figure out who designed this little space,
so if anyone knows, let me know.

so if anyone knows, let me know.
I need one of those plastic seat covers on the little bench at the dressing table.
I'm always dropping my mascara.
Hope I don't knock over that mirror.
Even a mansion needs animal prints.
This screen could well be my most favorite thing in the entire mansion.
OK, time to get out of bed and get dressed!
Formal Dressing Lounge
I could host a party in this closet, it's so big.
Yes, it's a closet and not a living room.
Hmmm, seems there is a party in here.
Pretty cool how those rods swing down.
No more climbing on a stool to get things off that top rod.
Wait a minute...I've got to share this closet with Mr. Goo Shoes?
OK, he can have that little space over there.
Nice being able to see all of my jewels through the glass top of the island.
This is a good place to sit when I have to put my socks on.
Hoo Ha! Look at this pull-out jewelry cabinet.
No more tangled necklaces!
A rotating shoe rack is the perfect solution for
Ms. Toody Goo's 200 Shoes.
Ms. Toody Goo's 200 Shoes.
I've always wanted a chandy in my closet...
And...a pull-out shelf stocked with cocktail fixin's!
Mini Master Closet
(Designer Unknown )
With all the space in the big closet,
would you believe there's not enough room for my nighties?
Good thing there's a little closet in the master bedroom.
Plus, who wants to walk all the way down the hall
just to get ready for bed?
Gentleman's Reading Room
When Mr. Goo Shoes can't sleep,
he can head into the reading room.
But more than likely, it'll be me who can't sleep.
There's a nice comfy chair to sit in while browsing through Pinterest
when I've got insomnia.
Le Petit Pantry
It's a LONG way to the main kitchen downstairs.
Good thing there's le petit one up near the bedroom
for late-night munchies.
Although, I think it's a pretty safe bet that you'll never find me cooking at this stove in the middle of the night.
Hope you enjoyed the master suite area of Blairsden Mansion.
There's only one more installment to come --
and just in time for spring, we'll check out some fabulous outdoor spaces!
Time for bed!
G'night!
Time for bed!

Well yes, I could just sit and look at that screen, myself. But I'm in love with the first big pictures of the fireplace with the small green chair pulled up to it. The whole wall, fireplace, scones and the whatever they are things sitting on either side of the hearth. And the view to outside.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready to move to that room!
Oh my gosh! What a fabulous closet, and yes, you're coming out whether you want to or not ;).
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part? The ceiling!! Gorgeous!
Well it just boggles the mind!! :)
