Of course you haven't...that would be just nutty.
I mean, who would do that?
The neighbors would talk, for heaven's sake,
if they saw you whispering sweet nothings to your Sweet William, wouldn't they?
But, between you and me, I can't seem to walk by
the hanging flower basket in my front yard
without my heart doing a little flutter.
the hanging flower basket in my front yard
without my heart doing a little flutter.
Truth be told, my love affair with this simple basket
has been blossoming for awhile now.
It began one fall, when my basket was heaped with gourds and mini-pumpkins.
My heart grew even fonder, when it was filled with colorful fall leaves.
In spring, daffodils and pansies
proved to be a match made in heaven, and I was even more smitten.
And now, this summer, I'm enamored with the combo of impatiens and creeping Jenny.
Don't they make a lovely couple?
I guess I've always been a bit of a basket case.

Ha ha, yes, I guess you are! Looks great, though - aren't you glad Impatiens are back? For a few years they all had that horrible fungus....I missed them!
ReplyDeleteHaha Amy this was a cute post! I love your pretty hanging basket too! ;)
ReplyDeleteAmy, What a great idea to change the contents of the hanging basket with every season. Love it! Joan-My Cookie Clinic
ReplyDeleteI didn't know impatiens weren't around?! Learn something new every day.
ReplyDeleteI feel that way about my deck planters. One in particular is doing so well, it makes me smile whenever I see it, which just happens to be ten times a day :)
Great idea to switch things up. I tried to find some creeping Jenny but learned it is invasive so most places don't carry it. I suppose in a basket that is a non issue, but I went with million bells and they look great.
Have a great weekend Amy!

It's very pretty! I don't ever seem to have hanging baskets. It gets too hot here and they don't last long.

Very pretty in deed Amy. I have never met a hanging basket I have not fallen in love with. Yours is very special and so gorgeous.

Kris
Well yes you are in love with that versatile basket. I love it myself. I have one of those grassy lined basket...now I want mine hanging from a tree to enjoy. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you Amy. I have a thing for it now. Creeping Jenny, one of my favorites

I fall in love with all sorts of inanimate objects. I love your basket.
ReplyDeleteAmy you made me smile and chuckle through your words and photos. Cool basket!

Your are so funny!! It is quite lovely so I can see the attraction.
ReplyDeleteOkay, loved the punch line and your basket is stunning no matter what the season!
ReplyDeleteWhat a kick of a post! I think I must be a basket case too as I just can't get enough of one when I have one. Haven't had any for a few years as am living now in a pretty hot climate and they seem to dry out really fast, even if watered twice a day. So I'll continue to dream for awhile. I love how you changed it up with each season. Never thought of that!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful flower basket! No wonder you're in love with it. I love the different ways that you've filled it.
ReplyDeleteWell I didn't realize you could change them out like that!! DUH, Debra-Dummy, lol! :) No wonder you love it!

ReplyDeleteYep- Gotta love you if you are a basket case....I have one of those, too, and I think people think I am a bit crazy when I talk to my plants...but...oh well.
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet basket in all seasons. xo Diana
So many lovely ways - season to season - you have decorated and used this basket.
ReplyDeleteYour summer colours are perfect.
Wishing you a happy month of July
All the best Jan
I totally get your love attraction to your basket! I have some garden things like that too!
ReplyDeleteWell, who would have thought that all those pretty petals would have paved the path to the perfect punchline?!
ReplyDeleteYour 'illicit' love affair is more than justified!
