Have you ever had one of those "light bulb" moments,
when you get so excited that you've got to start working on your idea immediately?
A couple of months ago, while I was making dinner,
I had this brainstorm about starting a regular series,
where I would enlist other bloggers to share their favorite things.
The fun part about asking a blogger a question
is that each one will answer it in their own unique style.
I turned off the oven, told the family to go get some pizza,
where I would enlist other bloggers to share their favorite things.

I turned off the oven, told the family to go get some pizza,
and got busy working on my plan.
And, today (cue the bugles)...
And, today (cue the bugles)...
is the "world" premiere of what I hope will be
a long and enjoyable run of my blogging friends' "Favorite Things!"
a long and enjoyable run of my blogging friends' "Favorite Things!"
Kicking off this series is my dear friend, Doreen, from Fox Den Rd.
You might remember that she and I actually got to meet last fall.
If you don't know Doreen, she writes about her log cabin, life in the Berkshires,
gardening, recipes, home decor, travel, and more recently,
adventures on the road in their newly purchased RV.
And, I might add, she writes all of this beautifully, with a terrific sense of humor.
Let's get this series started!
Thinking about my favorite things is always a fun endeavor. The beauty that surrounds us, just waiting to be appreciated, always astounds me, so I was delighted when Amy asked me to be part of her 'Favorite Things' series.
I hope you enjoy, and dream a little dream with me...
A beautiful barn
all covered in white
thatched roof homes
where dreams can take flight
A cute little doll house
or a lovely 'she shed'
a modern day loft
or a canopy bed
I'm not one for clutter
and knickknacks? Taboo!
I'd much prefer
serene rooms of blue
Sources: 1 2 3
Chocolate and coconut
are truly a dream
but not nearly as much
as cannoli cream
Sources: 1 2 3 4
The ephemeral look
of newly covered snow
autumns rich colors
and summers brite glow
Source
A stone covered gate
a meandering walk
a cozy patio
just right for a talk
Cute vintage trailers to take on the road
what a whimsical place
to call your abode
Source
Precocious sweet puppies
with eyes all aglow
with noses like nuggets
and coats like the snow
Rose covered arbors
European streets
a romantic front porch
for lovers to meet
A place to create
A place to roam
You are my ♥
You are my home

What a fun series!!! Great to meet other bloggers, like Doreen, aka Emily Dickinson, above ;-) and to look at those incredibly beautiful photos surrounding the verse. The light bulb when it went off hit on a great idea!

And I'm in love with most of HER favorite things, as I'm sure most are who read this. I'll subscribe so I can follow and get to know some new (to me) bloggers!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea Ms. Toody. And I loved this post by the wonderful Doreen! She is a gem among gems and of course so very clever. Love the rhymes and beautiful photos - especially the puppies as I saw my doggy's look alike there (did I mention I think Doreen wants to steal my dog?) Lol
