but didn't summer zip by in lightning speed?
August was very much a stay-at-home month,
after a super-busy July.
The weather was extraordinary...
sunny, with low humidity, and cooler than usual for August,
which made for many good hair days!
I breathed a sigh of relief when Junior Goo Shoes' returned to camp after a four week trip out west...
Relaxed on the deck and in the hammock...
Went to a great concert...
Welcomed Junior GS home from camp...
Celebrated his 15th birthday...
And closed out the month with a quiet Labor Day weekend.
How was your August?
I started re-reading the book Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach, for a study group.
Two unusual visitors showed up at the bird feeder, that I've not seen before. House finches?
These two precious fawns were resting on my neighbor's lawn for the longest time. They even waited for me to go get my camera.
A glorious afternoon, worthy of a rest in the hammock. (I sure hope I shaved my legs).
This month's crazy item at Home Goods. What would you do with it? I'd use it as a giant lantern, but I'd need to find a really big candle!
Catching up with a friend over morning coffee and cinnamon muffins.
Met a friend for lunch at The Writing Room on 88th and 2nd in NYC.
Another unusual visitor at the feeder today. I think it's an American Goldfinch.
Wonderful day with Mr. Goo Shoes' old friends, at their home in Long Island, NY.
Wind chime prism.
Beer-flavored jelly beans! OK, but why?
My birthday gift to Mr. Goo Shoes -- tickets to the Moody Blues concert..."Nights in White Satin...never reaching the end..."
Driving into NYC over the George Washington Bridge on a rainy, foggy morning. Yes, I was in the passenger seat.
Made a salad from our cherry tomato plants, LOL!
A weak moment with a trip to Shake Shack. The fried "Shroom Burger" stuffed with cheese was probably more fattening than a hamburger. Sometimes, you gotta just cheat.
No, that's not the Caribbean, it's Peirmont, NY, on the Hudson River. Discovered a new restaurant (Pier 701). Perfect night out with great friends!
Junior Goo Shoes is home from camp!!! He and Sadie are reunited after seven weeks. Look at how she is gazing at him.
Junior Goo Shoes' trip out west...in t-shirts.
Kicking my heels up outside Radio City Music Hall, 6th Ave and 50th St.
Giants-Jets pre-season game on TV. It's GOT to be a better season than last year for the Giants! Please?
I secretly love when Mr. Goo Shoes isn't hungry for dinner. Never mind that it's a concept I can't understand, but it gives me a chance to get sushi!
Two turtle doves?
PLEASE. Not. Yet.
Took Junior GS into the city to catch the Jitney, so he could spend a few days in the Hamptons, with a friend's family. So jealous that he's going back to where it all started without us!
To the moon, Alice! A new statue of Ralph Kramden outside Port Authority in NYC. Hamana Hamana Hamana!
Happy 15th Birthday, Junior Goo Shoes!
The moment when you realize you've been walking around with a sticker on your new t-shirt that says "Feel Me."
Another unusual sighting. Anyone know what this is?
Hope your August was whatever you wanted it to be.
