TRAVEL COLLAGE: VIEWS FROM ABOVE - - AROUND THE WORLD

View From Ravello, Italy - Ms. Toody Goo Shoes

Sometimes, in order to see something clearly,
you need to look at it up close.
Put it under a microscope,
and examine it from every angle.
Poke it.
Prod it.
Analyze how each part relates to the others.

Other times,
the only way to see something with stark clarity
is to step back.
Put some distance between you and it.
See it from a different perspective.

Only then are you able to appreciate the big picture.

  2. Yikes, they are all absolutely stunning views of some truly spectacular places, but I'm picturing you up high snapping those shots and can you tell I'm a coward!! Ha! My husband and I were just recounting a drive on a crazy high mountain road with no guard rails in upstate NY a couple of summers ago and I was driving. It was scary, but you really do get so much more from a bird's eye view!

  5. it's a really interesting way of presenting the world and a view that I seldom get, since I am at ground level poking through the bushes. It is always a privilege to visit new places, isn't it, a pleasure that has been denied us during the pandemic.

  6. Gorgeous! What is so neat is that you were behind the camera at each of these fabulous places and got the in-person view too. Hopefully you can get back to your love of travel soon!

    1. I hope so, AnnMarie! I’m chomping at the bit to book something, but this variant is holding me back. I’m not sure you are receiving my email replies, as you are coming up as a “No Reply” blogger. Please let me know if you are!

  7. These are fabulous, Amy. Certainly views I've never seen before (to be honest, most of the places I haven't seen either!). You're right about different perspectives for anything -- it certainly works here!
